Fire Rock Ranch - Morning Bird Walk and Brunch for 8
Join Master Birder Laurie Duke for a 2 hour walk followed by a generous brunch at the house. Tour around the barn, corrals, and riparian creek area of this special property recently set aside in a conservation easement with the Colorado Cattlemen Land Trust. It will never be subdivided. The creek will be protected and improved through funds with Ducks Unlimited. Laurie will tell you all about it!
Some of the expected birds will be swallows, kingbirds, bluebirds, warblers, sparrows, woodpeckers, raptors, finches, and maybe a few surprises. Wear long pants and hiking shoes for walking through tall grass and creek crossings. The total distance will be approximately half a mile. Don't forget your binoculars!
A buffet brunch will include several egg dishes along with fruit, yogurt and pastries. Weather permitting, we will serve brunch outside on our deck under the shade of the cottonwoods. During breakfast Ben will talk about our recent decision to place the property in a conservation easement which will prevent any future development on the land forever. At the same time, you can watch the birds visiting the nearby feeders and flying back and forth in the trees.
For up to 8 people to begin at 7:30am.
To be used by September 30, 2024
