WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT ARRIVAL AT MAR-A-LAGO

MAR-A-LAGO GUEST GUIDANCE

1. You will receive a text message 24 hours prior to the event from Mar-a-Lago with a QR code. This text lets you know that MAL has you on the guest list. Please keep this for Thursday.
2. You will ALSO receive a text message and email from Place of Hope Thursday morning at 9AM with prompts for you to "check-in" to the event. This expedites check-in at the event so you can skip the line. It is strongly encouraged you do this ahead of time. Follow the prompts to check-into get your "green check." Please keep your green check for Thursday.
3. There is no parking at Mar-a-Lago. All parking will be at the Palm Beach Airport Hilton (150 Australian Ave, WPB). Look for the Place of Hope parking flags/signs. Park to the left of the hotel. Look for the shuttles.
4. Board a shuttle. First shuttle is at 9:45AM. The shuttle ride is 15 minutes. Last shuttle is around 10:30AM.
5. On the shuttle you will pass through Bath & Tennis Club for security screening. Here you will show the security your valid ID and your QR code from MAL security.
6. Once you pass Bath & Tennis Club, the shuttle will take you to Mar-a-Lago to check in with the Place of Hope staff. Have your green check ready to show at entrance. If you did not check-in ahead of time, you will need to see a POH team member at the check-in high tops.
7. Final step is clearing the metal detector and bag screening (like TSA) with Secret Service.

About the Event

Each month in Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast, numerous children face removal from their homes due to various forms of abuse, neglect, homelessness, abandonment, exploitation, and trafficking. Place of Hope is actively combating these injustices in our communities. We urge you to join us in supporting the children and youth by participating in this significant event, which gathers over 600 participants and sponsors. Your involvement provides safety, stability, and hope to those we serve daily.

About Place of Hope

Place of Hope is the largest, most diverse, faith-based, state licensed children and families organization focused on providing programs and services to end the cycles of abuse, neglect, homelessness and human trafficking in Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast. Since opening our doors in 2001, we have provided support to over 30,000 children, youth and families in need. Our goal is to help those we serve find healing and restoration, which leads to a successful future. Through this event, we are raising critical funds to care for traumatized children, youth and families throughout our region with excellence.

Light in the Shadows reached full capacity last year and is anticipated to do so again. Proceeds from the event directly support our human trafficking prevention and intervention program, by providing high-quality targeted therapeutic programs and tailored case management are provided for both our adult and minor survivors and at-risk youth. Additionally, we are providing neighborhood foster care, affordable transitional housing, education and enrichment opportunities, and independent life skills development programming for survivors.

Upon your arrival, you will be greeted with a poolside reception featuring a robust silent auction,

followed by a plated lunch and riveting program, along with a live auction and bid from the heart.
