Your child's class can have a picnic and balloon launch with Dr. Holt. This experience is available to 3rd through 5th only. Winning bidder will coordinate with Dr. Holt. This event is a learning, fun, hopeful, and kindness-based experience. Students will make and bag their own picnic lunch from the provided healthy ingredients and learn about the foods they are preparing. Students will learn about food groups and be responsible for making a 4-course nutritionally balanced meal. When they are finished preparing their lunches, they will have to trade one of the items they've made with a classmate. This represents kindness and the desire to help feed others by sharing and making sure no one goes hungry. It also represents the idea that kindness sometimes requires sacrifice, giving up something that's ours. Students will take their lunches outside to eat. Next, the Balloon Launch is an activity that teaches both being kind to our World and 'launching' positivity up into the World. Each student will be given a helium filled (biodegradable) ballon. The students will write their positive wish for the world on a notecard (biodegradable) and tie it to the balloon's string (biodegradable). The students will then trade their balloon with another student, twice. This represents how we need to support each other's endeavors and goals. The students, one by one, will then read the wish that is tied to the balloon they have and release it. Winning bidder will coordinate with Dr. Holt.
