The Richmond Flying Squirrels, proud 'AA' affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, are committed to supporting the RVA community through our charity-arm, Flying Squirrels Charities. Our mission is to provide youth in our community access to athletic and educational opportunities through the game of baseball/softball. We aim to create a positive impact while bringing the FUNN into all we do!
To do this, we started the All-Star Legacy & Richmond 34 Scholarships that provide 3 scholarships to Richmond area students every year. We are also working with our partners at Gilbane to provide dugouts and field upgrades to Richmond Public High School baseball and softball fields while looking ahead to providing programming and support of baseball & softball initiatives for kids right here in the city of Richmond.
All-Star Legacy Fund: One (1) $5,000 scholarship to a student-athlete committed to improving their community.
Richmond 34 Scholarship: One (1) $2,000 scholarship, renewable for all four years attending school, to a student attending Virginia State University and one (1) $2,000 renewable scholarship to a student attending Virginia Union University.
