Chris Baumgartner began her career in the visual arts in San Francisco in the late 60s at the Rudolph Schaeffer School of Design with classes in painting and drawing under Norman Stiegelmeyer at the Berkeley Extension Center. Her paintings have been shown in annual solo shows in Osaka, Japan, and a number of solo and group shows in the Seattle area.

Peter de Lory received his BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and a MFA from the University of Colorado. He has been the recipient of a NEA Photography Fellowship and numerous one-person exhibits over the past 30 years. In 1999 he completed a photo residency at the Seattle Public Utilities / Seattle Arts Commission and has been the photographer in residence with the Sound Transit Art Program 2000-2009. Kate's work reflects her interest in architecture and the environment, developing a relationship between nature and culture as a universal landscape. Her artwork stays away from the reality of the hard-line, instead capturing or interpreting the emotional essence of a time and place. She maintains a sense of gestural vagueness in both her encaustics and monotypes through the use of the additive/subtractive, collage process that makes up her artistic style, creating imagery that is somewhat familiar but not clearly defined. Her work lets the spirit of each medium express itself, with the end results hovering between representation and abstraction.

Mira Kamada is a contemporary painter living in Bellingham. Growing up in New Jersey she frequented art museums and galleries in Manhattan. The landmark exhibition, "New York Painting and Sculpture: 1940-1970" at the Met, featuring the Abstract Expressionists, was a pivotal event in her artistic awakening. She moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2004 to focus on fine art. Kamada's work has been exhibited across the US and in British Columbia.

My current work is inspired by Bellwether systems, which indicate changes to the environment with loss and changes, such as wetlands, coral reefs, and grasslands.

Phillip Levine was a renowned Northwest artist known for his bronze figurative sculptures, ultimately earning a MFA degree in sculpture from the University of Washington. Ron Wigginton is a West Coast artist, an Artist Fellow of the Morris Graves Foundation, and an internationally recognized Landscape Architect working in Bellingham. He received an MFA from the University of Oregon, and taught at Cornish College of Art, and his paintings are included in the Seattle Art Museum, Museum of Northwest Art, and the Portland Art Museum.

Heidi Epstein has worked both as an art educator and an architectural interior designer in the Northwest for forty-plus years, most recently with Suyama, Peterson, Deguchi in Seattle. Gene Jaress' first print was made when he was fifteen. After mastering several mediums, he came back to printmaking for a balance between technical expertise and artistry. He starts with a drawing, makes a color rendition, transfers the image to a block to carve the key block, and then carves multiple blocks by color. He then prints the edition. His images are reflections of places he's lived in the Pacific Northwest.

David first learned photography from his grandparents in Colorado. Bezalel-Levy is the combined signature of a husband and wife collaboration of 34 years, Chaim Bezalel and Yonnah Ben Levy. Born and raised in Dobbs Ferry, NY, he studied film at Northwestern University. He spent 10 years as a stockbroker, and in 1988 left for Israel with two suitcases. There he met my wife, Yonnah Ben Levy, and they began a collaboration, publishing prints, posters, greeting cards, and books, and also doing original mixed media. Chaim's ceramic sculptures were recently exhibited at the Eretz Museum in Tel Aviv.

Joe Reno is a lifelong Seattle Ballard resident. In 1965, at age 22, he worked in New York at MOMA while attending The Art Students League on a Ford Foundation Scholarship. Marceil DeLacy's lifelong affinity for trees and love of nature inspires most of her sculpted subjects. As human encroachment and climate change displace flora and fauna, her art serves as a way of giving voice to nature. She especially loves to take a rough old hunk of wood and restore its natural beauty and character through sculpture. It's a process she calls "listening to the forest." Susan received her MA in art from Ohio State University. Tim Mickleburgh grew up in London and lives and works in the Pacific Northwest. He studied design and photography at Bournemouth Art College and interned at the Darkroom Workshop in Berkeley. He later became a full-time instructor in England and Wisconsin, teaching classes in photography, film and video editing, graphic design and media theory.

Mindi obtained a BA in Drawing and Printmaking at the University of South Florida, Tampa, FL. I am an artist living in the Pacific Northwest, with a BFA from the University of Michigan and an MFA from the University of Washington. I taught drawing classes including Pratt Institute, Cornish, the Burke Museum and Gage Academy, from Beginning Drawing to Medieval Art and Illumination to Modern Art History to workshops in particular media such as silverpoint, carbon dust, and scratchboard. In 2023 I was featured in an exhibit about drawing at the Museum of Northwest Art called "Leading by Drawing".

Robert Helm, Ochre, July 1999, Oil on duron panel, 9" x 12"

Robert Helm, one of the Northwest's most acclaimed artists died October 21, 2008. He was 65 and known for surreal imagery and exquisite craftsmanship. He earned his MFA degree at WSU in 1969 and taught at the University of Colorado before returning to teach at WSU from 1971-84. He and Tammy continued to live and work in their studios in the middle of his beloved wheat fields between Pullman and Moscow.

Don Wesley has been inspired by nature since his arrival to Washington State. He went on to graduate from WWU in 1995 with portfolios in painting, illustration, and graphic design. Don has served as an advisor to schools and arts organizations throughout the Puget Sound region, and was the founding chairperson for the Bremerton 1% for the Arts Commission in 2006. Today, Don is primarily a painter, but also enjoys working in animation, sculpture, and wearable art.

This experience with Ansel led to a career in teaching and lecturing on photography across the country.

Hooshang is an internationally exhibited artist with working studios in Ruston, LA, and Orange County, CA. His art career began at age 7 - when a newspaper published one of his drawings. Enrollment in an arts-centered high school followed, then college and a BFA in painting. Since 1984, he has worked as a self-employed artist in America and Spain. His paintings are displayed in private collections across Europe and the U.S. as well as in corporate collections; are included in permanent museum collections; and have been shown in numerous galleries.

Printmaker K.C (Kayce) Joyce was born in Portland, Oregon, in 1947. Though she was active as an artist in the late 1950s, her studies began in the mid-1960s, when she took courses at the Cari Instituto de Idiomas (1966 - 1967), after receiving praise from artist Pablo Picasso. Following her time in Europe she settled in Oregon, where she earned her BFA at the University of Oregon. Her work is in the collections of the Portland Art Museum, Oregon State University, University of Oregon Museum of Art, and the Munson Williams Proctor Museum in Utica, New York, among others.

Amy Scherer has always loved paintings. Though she considers herself an experimental painter and has developed different bodies of artworks over several decades, her primary focus is on perceptual painting. Our brain fills in a lot and that is something she plays with in her work. Amy's most used tools are palette knives, which she has broken her fair share, and also uses brushes. She uses slow-drying acrylic, predominantly. Her subject matter is her life, her children, her friends, and the things she sees around her.

Dick Busher has been a professional photographer since 1974. His fine art photography interests are nature and landscapes, plus abstract subject matter found mostly in the urban environment. The print in this auction is madewith an Epson inkjet printer using Epson Ultrachrome K3 pigment inks. The paper is an archival acid free, 100% cotton paper. When exhibited properly these prints should last for more than 100 years without signs of fading.
