An afternoon adventure to Goat Island located in Skagit Bay to explore the historic ruins of Fort Whitman. Accessible by a small motor boat, Historic Fort Whitman is a sibling to both Fort Warden and Fort Casey. Built during WWI and decommissioned following WWII, Goat Island is uninhabited, and viewing the Fort Whitman ruins are a step back in time.
Following the adventure will be a top-notch beach picnic together with chilled wine and tasty food.
This Goat Island adventure is both tide and weather dependent and the slope up to the Fort is steep and will require good boots and some hiking ability, for up to four persons.
This is a trip that is both locally unique and historical: expires September 30th 2024. Contingent upon tides and currents.
