Description: Did you know that your child's executive functioning skills directly impact their school experience and your cognitive load as a parent? At home, executive functioning skills are what help our kids remember and follow our instructions, adjust to different expectations from different adults, play independently, persist at problem-solving, and set and achieve goals. At school, these skills help our kids remember and follow the teacher's multi-step instructions, avoid distractions, adjust when rules change, plan and prioritize, manage their time, get started on a task, and break larger projects into steps to be taken over time. So it's probably no surprise that how our kids develop these skills directly impacts our cognitive load as parents. And research shows that these skills impact academic success for our kids, too.

In this workshop, led by Caitlin Greer Meister, parents will learn what executive functioning skills are and three easy and fun activities you can do at home to help your kids build these skills through play. Then, bring any and all questions to our live Zoom Q&A!
