Nestled in Armissan, a quiet wine-growing village midway between the beaches of the Mediterranean Sea and the sophistication of nearby Narbonne, this charming home accommodates up to four couples.

Armissan is in the Languedoc-Roussillon region, an hour west of Montpellier, 30 minutes southeast of the medieval city of Carcassonne and less than a three hour drive from Barcelona.

Near-by Narbonne, on the Canal de la Robine, offers fast train service to Paris, Toulouse, Avignon, Arles, Barcelona, Madrid and other cities throughout the region. Narbonne is also the site of a renowned cathedral as well as fine restaurants, good shopping, and numerous historical sites.

Your residence is an old stone barn steps from the village center. The ground level is an expansive garage with ample parking. Stairs lead up to the great room with a huge stone fireplace and French doors to a large terrace (with both gas and wood grills) overlooking the vineyards and foothills of Le Clape. Also off the great room are a modern kitchen; a pleasant
dining nook and table; a modern en-suite bedroom with French doors to the main terrace; a private bedroom with a double bed; a full bath; a water closet and a separate tiled shower and sink.

Stairs on both sides of the great room lead to open bedroom lofts. One, with a double bed (smaller than American doubles), has a private terrace and an even higher view of the village and
vineyards. The other has twin beds and a double bed.

There is no phone in the house, but there is wi-fi and good cell phone coverage.
The butcher and the baker are steps away from your front steps, as is the local wine co-op selling the best choices of the region; or fill your jug from huge vats of local wine! Ten or 15 minutes away by car, Narbonne features a wide variety of shops plus one of the most beautiful market buildings in France (open every day of the year) with the freshest seafood, meats, cheeses and produce. There are many fine restaurants, including one with two Michelin stars.

All this is yours for a week as agreed to with the owner over the next 18 months.
