Birra Nursia is brewed by the Benedictine monks of Norcia, the guardians of the legacy of St. Benedict in the city of his birth.

About the Monks that Brew the Beer:

Inaugurated in 2012, Birra Nursia monks' way to live out the maxim of Saint Benedict that says true monks live by the work of their own hands. From ancient times, monks have understood that a God- centered vision of life must be shared with society by means of earthly experiences. This is done first in the liturgy with the singing of the Gregorian chants, the use of incense and the use of bells - things that involve all the man's senses - but also by study and work aimed at bringing forth the fruits of the earth that nourished the human body. In every respect, the monks never ceased to sanctify material things in order to make them pass that lead to God. In complete harmony with the tradition, the monks of Norcia have sought to share with the world of product cultivated through this monastic logic, one of the reminds us of the goodness of creation and the potential that it contains. For the monks of Norcia, beer has always been a beverage reserved for special occasions, such as Sundays and Feast days. This project of the monastic brewery was conceived with the hope of sharing with others the joy arising from the labor of our own hands, so that in all things the Lord and Creator of all may be glorified.

Beer Description:

Birra Nursia Bionda is a golden, luminous beer with a creamy, compact and persistent head. Its fresh aroma is enhanced by hints of coriander and lemon zest. With time, it matures to become an ethereal floral perfume. The palette is enlivened by the hop and malt notes. The cheerful carbonation and the gentle, dry finish nicely round off the body of this beer.
