At Lakewinds Food Co-op, a community-owned organic grocery store, you'll find organic groceries, locally grown produce, sustainably raised meat, local eggs, milk, and more. Our commitment to local, organic food is found throughout our stores. For example, last year 83 percent of milk, butter, and eggs and 75 percent of meat sold was local, and 94 percent of produce sold was organic.
The reasons we're an organic grocery store instead of a conventional store are numerous: Organic certification means a third party has verified that practices used don't harm the land or people, and has followed those practices for 3 years. This reduces water and soil pollution, helps protect pollinators, and protects the food from toxic residues. We partner with local growers and food makers to bring you the best organic groceries, so you can shop with confidence, knowing that what you eat is better for you and better for the environment. There's no membership required to shop at the co-op, all are welcome!
