Rescued at the tender age of 9 weeks from the bustling streets of Houston, Texas, Joy's journey to finding her forever home was a bit rocky. Passed around from house to house, she faced rejection, but fate had something special in store for her. Enter Christina Sebastian, a compassionate soul who saw the uniqueness in Joy and knew that she was destined for greatness.

Despite being deaf, Joy's spirit remained undaunted. At just a year old, she started learning her own special sign language, a testament to her intelligence and adaptability. Joy's favorite trick? Telling the kids at the library that she loves them, spreading her warmth and affection to all those she encounters.

Joy's heartwarming mission extends beyond the confines of her home. A registered therapy dog with the Alliance of Therapy Dogs and a proud member of Ark-La-Tex Therapy Dogs, she finds immense joy in comforting hospice and nursing home patients. Additionally, she takes on the role of a guardian angel at local libraries and events, watching over babies and helping kids understand that their unique challenges make them extra special.

Playful and spirited, Joy finds immense pleasure in her play dates with friends, especially her beloved Bubba. Cuddling with her momma is one of her favorite pastimes, and she's even been known to sneak away with her momma's pillow from the bedroom to the living room for a cozy nap.

Joy's culinary preferences are just as charming as her personality. She has a particular fondness for sweet potatoes and, when no one is looking, may take a bite out of a raw one just for fun. Yet, amidst all her adventures, Joy remains a therapy dog at heart, living to bring joy and comfort to those who need it the most.

But don't be fooled by her exuberance-Joy also knows the importance of a good nap. When it's time to wake up, you'll find her stretched across the bed, her face nestled on top of her momma's. She's everyone's best friend and loves to showcase her playful side by dressing up with her brother Ajax.
