Artwork Barcelona
Beautiful artwork by Artist Nancy McIlvaine (1926 - 2020), International Interior Designer, Gallerist, and iPhone photographer. The subject of the photograph is "Casa Lleo Morera". It is one of the three important buildings of Barcelona's Illa de la Discordia ("Block of Discord"). Built between 1902 and 1906, it is a masterpiece by the great modernist architect Lluis Domenech i Montaner.
This is an artist print and it is signed on the mat by photographer Nancy McIlvaine. The artist manages to capture the extraordinary beauty of this building in such a unique manner. It is displayed in a custom metal frame to showcase the artwork. The framed size is 18" x 23".
Nancy & husband William were the well-known owners of Portals LTD, a highly successful Chicago art gallery for 26 years.
At age 91 years young and hardly one to retire, Nancy, inspired by a trip to Barcelona and the architecture and art of Gaudi, began taking photographs with her iPhone. Her photographs focused on the beauty of minutia and color. She discovered an interesting perspective by focusing on just a tiny piece of a subject leaving the whole to the viewer's imagination.
"What I do is with my eye, and it's not complete," said Nancy. "Where other artists will draw complete scenes, or a complete person, I only want to give an impression of a piece of art, so that people can use their imaginations to imagine an entire wall, or an entire room or an entire ceiling."
Nancy was a cherished Board Member of SALUTE. She is greatly missed but never forgotten.
Priceless
