Three bottles of the 2013 "728" Pinot Noir, and one bottle of the 2013 Doyle Pinot Noir. Named by owner, Kathy Joseph, for the Fiddlehead Fern which is prized by chefs and gracefully unfolds once a year, the wines from Fiddlehead Cellars emerge from the soils of the Santa Rita Hills near Santa Barbara. The cooling breezes from the Pacific Ocean make this an ideal terroir for Pinot Noir grapes. Three bottles of 2013 pinot "728" (7.28 miles to coastal highway 1); this pinot noir has great color and spicy aromatics. It is a great wine to complement a meal. Only 20 cases of the 2013 Doyle single vineyard Pinot Noir were made, using carefully selected grapes. Powerful and concentrated with a youthful aromatic intensity. It is an elegant wine - lovely as an appertif and even better with food.
