This beautiful framed watercolor (17.25 x 23.5 in), long attributed to the famous English painter Thomas Gainsborugh, was actually once owned by the famous British industrialist and Member of Parlaiment, Viscount Leverhulme (1851-1925), who later became the founder of Lever Brothers. Despite this storied provenance, recent expert examinations confirm that Gainesborough himself was not the artist. Rather, this canvas may have been the reverential work of his nephew Gainsborough Dupont, or another talented craftsman from his studio. Nonetheless, it can grace many a room in your home, adding color, artistry, and a little history.
Dimensions: 17.25 x 23.5 inches
