IMAGE STORY

This image was created shortly after the park had reopened with new COVID 19 regulations. As a result, there were still very few visitors. I had enjoyed a day of photography and hiking in the park. My plan was to arrive at the lake in time to leisurely pick out my spot. As the day was ending, I found myself nearly alone with this stunning view. I enjoyed my dinner while waiting for the light to be closed to where I needed it to be.

When it came time to set up the tripod and start capturing images, I had my first issue. One of the only fishermen in the lake was working his way right through this view. I really want to respect everyone's experience when they are enjoying nature. After waiting for what seems like an eternity (but it, reality, was like 1 minute) it became clear things were not going to work out. While I like anonymous subjects in some of my images, his movement was ruining the reflection.

I took a chance, shouted out to him, and got lucky. He moved over next to me, and we ended up chatting till it was dark. I was able to put this image together. and we caught a fish!
