Mattie Lewis is a senior at the University of Kentucky, graduating in the class of 2024 with an honors degree in Human Health Sciences. She will continue her education at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine this fall.

She has served on the Bluegrass Ronald McDonald House Special Events Committee for four years and was recognized as the 2022 University of Kentucky Student of Philanthropy. She was also awarded the International Collegiate Emerging Leader Award for her service. She is a twice-named Joseph P. Kennedy Philanthropy Scholar and a Presidential Scholar.

Mattie supports her passion for promoting healthcare access for underserved populations through
medical service trips to Ecuador over breaks with Global Brigades and MEDLIFE. She is thrilled to improve access to care in Lexington by supporting Surgery on Sunday through this event.

Mattie has danced competitively since she was three years old, notably having trained with the Radio City Rockettes in New York City. She is currently a member of the University of Kentucky Dance Ensemble and is excited to expand her dance experience to the ballroom.
Mattie is also a classically trained pianist and enjoys playing golf and traveling in her free time.

Mattie will be dancing with Josh Kattus, tight end for University of Kentucky Football, who shares her passion for serving the community. Originally from Cincinnati, OH, Josh is entering his junior season on the team and has already made a name for himself in sports as well as academics. He is a Dean's List student and made the 2023 SEC Academic Honor Roll.

Josh is deeply committed to giving back to the community. He regularly volunteers at the Kentucky Children's Hospital and the Bluegrass Ronald McDonald House, where he brightens the day of families going through a difficult time. He also volunteers with the Scott County
Humane Society, promoting dog adoption events and helping Scott County animals find a good home.

Josh grew up watching Dancing With the Stars with his mom and was eager to participate in this opportunity to support the Rotary Club of Lexington and Surgery on Sunday. When he is not busy with
football and volunteering, he enjoys playing golf.
