During the summer, you can walk from Kandahar Lodge to the Zip Line Tours, an Alpine Slide and the Aerial Adventure Park. You can also ride the chairlift or hike to the 7,000 foot Summit, or ride more than 30 miles of lift-accessed and cross-country mountain bike trails. For winter travelers, Kandahar is located in an excellent ski-in location at Whitefish Mountain Resort with an incredible array of terrain on over 3,000 acres. There is rarely a lift line and conditions are most often powder and packed powder (annual average snowfall is 300 inches). Whitefish Mountain Resort ranked #10 overall recently in SKI Magazine's Reader Survey. The free S.N.O.W. bus provides convenient access from Kandahar to the town of Whitefish. At the end of your ski day simply ski down Hailey's Run to the hotel. At the beginning of the ski day you can choose a short walk and ski down to Chair 6, or the hotel will take you to the lift plaza in the Resort Village in its van. Within walking distance are the Bierstube, the Hellroaring Saloon, ski shops, a convenience store and other skier services. While the resort is very easy to walk around, the Kandahar van is available for shuttles to/from any location in the Village during daytime hours.
