Knights Armament KS-1 Rifle

The SR-15 KS-1 is the semi-auto commercial variant of the L403A1 Alternative Individual Weapon adopted by specialist and Commando UK Forces under Project Hunter. The KS-1 features a 13.7" (349mm) heavy profile ball-mill dimpled cold hammer forged barrel. This carbine allows a small, high efficiency suppressor to be attached and still maintain an overall length similar to a 10.3" barrel with a standard suppressor, but with significantly higher muzzle velocity. The heavy profile barrel resist heat-induced shift, maintaining point of impact throughout long-duration use. Ball mill dimpling aids in weight reduction while reducing heat-related shift effect that can be seen with traditional fluting. An evolved dual-ejector design further extends the durability of the E3.2 bolt, ensuring reliability when signature reduction devices are employed. The fully ambidextrous lower receiver incorporates not only a tool-less removable trigger guard, but also houses a refined 2-stage full-auto trigger group. The URX6 handguard system is resistant to impact shift and requires no timing or adhesive for installation.

This special edition of the KS-1 is surface-coated with FDE Cerakote, and features the SR-16-specific removable trigger guard found on contract rifles. The complete kit includes the 5.56QDC/MCQ-PRT suppressor, suppressor shroud, soft case, MLOK rail sections, back-up sights, MLOK QD sling socket, Vortex "Elanor" optic, Aimpoint ARCO P-2 and optic mount.
