Rescue Story:

The first time I saw Clarence he was limping. He wasn't interested in coming up to me and I knew our space at the shelter was still full. I would keep an eye on him and put him at the top of my list for rescue. There were two others dogs at this abandoned house as well, but Clarence would be first because he was injured.

I went back multiple times to feed but was not seeing Clarence. It's so disappointing when we know one needs help but no longer see them. On my next trip, there he was. This time, he was forced to use that injured leg in the back because now he was also not able to use one of his front legs. This boy could barely walk! So today was his day. No more waiting. He managed to hobble his way inside and laid down on a pile of old insulation. He didn't even have the energy to try to move away from me. It didn't take much to get him leashed and safely in the jeep.

Our vets worked their magic and Clarence healed. He is still waiting for his forever family, but while he waits, he has friends at the shelter that take him for car rides and adventures. I love seeing these pics of him and that smile on his face!
