Title: Mixed Media on Wooden Gate

Artist: Mark A. Swain

Medium: Acrylics / Mixed Media

Dimensions: 24" x 30"

Animal Depicted: Hobbs

Artist Statement:

"This art was inspired by a puppy that was rescued by Stray rescue 5 years ago, {named Hobbs}.
This guy was just a puppy living on the streets. One day he attempted to climb under a chain link fence. That became disastrous. He became wedged under the fence and the fence cut into his side and thigh the more he struggled.
Stray rescue, rescue him and provided surgery and medical care. He went to a foster in South county. One day my friend was driving down Tesson Ferry and was immediately drawn to this dog that was being walked. He was completely enamored at how confident and happy the puppy was walking. {He} turned around and spoke with the lady about the puppy and she said she was his foster parent and {he} could apply to adopt him at Stray rescue. The rest is history, {he} adopted the puppy and named him HAPPY because that is and always has been his disposition.
I chose to use a folk art approach to this art because it fits the personality of HAPPY. "

Status: Adopted!
