ABOUT CATTLE BARON'S BALL
The American Cancer Society's iconic Cattle Baron's Ball, a western-themed gala founded 50 years ago in Dallas, TX, thrives in 27 different cities across America who will collectively raise over $17 Million this year towards the ongoing pursuit of a cure for cancer. For the last 30 years, Central Texans have gathered for our own Texas-sized ball to enjoy entertainment from top country artists, auctions, and most importantly, lifesaving mission moments.
In Waco specifically, ACS funds and Access to Care grant at Baylor Scott and White that provides transportation and lodging to local patients. The Hope Lodges in Dallas, Houston, Lubbock and Oklahoma City have all provided free nights to patients and their caregivers from Central Texas. (To date that includes 369 nights for McLennan County patients) It also funds the Cancer Information Center which is available 24/7/365 to patients and their families. Patients and families can speak to a live person for information on their diagnosis, connected to ACS and other resources, insurance specialists, oncology nurses and more.
