THOUGHTFULLY HANDCRAFTED BY: NEW YORK CITY SEWSCIETY

This stunning quilt is 96" x 80"

Quilts hold a profound historical significance within DIFFA, serving as a poignant tribute to cherished memories and a solemn acknowledgment of those lost to the HIV/AIDS epidemic. This year, as we commemorate 40 years of DIFFA's extraordinary contributions, we are proud to harness the exquisite artistry of quilting.

DIFFA has always embraced design as a catalyst for inspiring our community, while simultaneously fostering education and raising vital funds for our cause. As our New York chapter event evolves, we eagerly anticipate providing a platform for creative expression through the medium of quilting.

What distinguishes these quilts is their unique origin: meticulously crafted by a diverse quilting bee comprised of interior designers, manufacturers, furniture dealers, clients, and all stakeholders. Utilizing discarded textile samples from the Architecture & Design industry, these artisans have transformed over 15 years' worth of materials, totaling approximately 3000 lbs, salvaging them from contributing to landfills. This underscores our steadfast commitment to responsible stewardship.

At the heart of our initiative lies a profound sense of community; together, we forge a creative alliance, embarking on a collective journey reminiscent of the traditional "quilting bee." Here, camaraderie and creativity intertwine, weaving narratives stitched with love and purpose. Our ultimate goal is to extend an invitation to our community bee, inviting them to participate annually in crafting these works of art to benefit DIFFA's crucial mission.
