12x12 framed floral painting by Lelia Davis

Using bold color, energetic brushstrokes, and palette knife, Lelia paints varying perspectives of our natural world. Combining art with her background in wellness, biology, and interest in environmental conservation, the focus of her work is to depict overlooked aspects of our physical and emotional environments.

Lelia began by painting fragile ecosystems to bring attention to their importance. This was informed by her education in biology, love for the outdoors, and efforts in conservation. She toured protected land with environmental groups to gather references for her paintings, and donated a portion of sales in return.

Lelia's experience as a psychiatric nurse inspired her to add another layer to her focus. She recognized that many live in their own fragile ecosystem of depression, anxiety, and loneliness, and now creates work that highlights the importance of caring for ourselves and others. Lelia donates her artwork and volunteers with several organizations with a mission similar to hers, such as NAMI, Heartspace Kids, The Never Alone Foundation, Homeward Pikes Peak, Working Fusion, Be Better, Elevate, and CASA.

Lelia graduated from Trinity University in 1998 Bachelor's in Biology. In 2000, she earned a Bachelor's in Nursing from the University of Texas. She continued to pursue her artistic vocation and earned her Master's in Fine Art from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco in 2022. Lelia will graduate with a Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Bellevue University in 2024. Lelia exhibits her work throughout Colorado and beyond.
