Emergency Blood Shortage
On January 7, 2024, the American Red Cross declared a National Emergency Blood Appeal. The Red Cross is experiencing an emergency blood shortage as the nation faces the lowest number of people giving blood in 20 years. Your blood donation is needed now to help alleviate the shortage and ensure lifesaving medical procedures are not delayed.
If you're interested in donating blood while attending the event, please click on the button below for any available appointments and to schedule your blood donation:
If you're unable to donate blood that day at the Betty Bazar Blood Services Center, no problem! We've created a BloodLink which counts any blood donations from neighboring drives towards this event. Meaning, you and your local blood drive (fixed site or mobile blood drive) can still support this event and help meet our national blood shortage need.
