Jeff Neal is an off grid woodworker who lives along the Dan river in Stokes county. He's the ultimate outsider artist with no internet or social media accounts and no interest in self promotion.

His "Smoke Grinder" is a hand carved perpetual motion machine conceived, designed and carved by Jeff. Held together without nails or glue but with pegs instead, it can be taken apart and reassembled by anyone smart enough to attempt it.

Approximately 8" wide and 12 " high, it makes a perfect, quirky centerpiece or free standing sculpture. Each sculpture is unique, without a twin anywhere and takes him about 36 hours to make. The Base and Cross piece are made from babinga wood ; the white wood is all maple ; the Gears are oak, and all the Pegs are walnut.
