Over the past three decades, Legal Council has used the power of the law to secure dignity, opportunity, and well-being for tens of thousands of individuals and their families facing barriers due to illness or disability. Through direct legal assistance, educational programming, and statewide policy advocacy, Legal Council helps the most vulnerable people in our communities.

This year alone, Legal Council staff will provide free, expert legal assistance to over 2,200 individuals. Beyond that, our educational outreach touches thousands of lives and our systemic advocacy has bettered the lives of millions of people across Illinois and beyond.
