Perceptual Motor Development (PMD) Fund

Perceptual Motor Development or "PMD" is an integrated part of the Montessori experience. Assisting the child in developing a sense of their body in space helps the child to develop coordination, a growing awareness of the world around them and results in essential brain connections for the growing child. PMD is supported through specialized gross motor movement at all ages. It is the way we get the body and mind working together - a healthy body is a prerequisite for an active mind!

Much of the PMD equipment we use is original - serving us well through at least two generations of students - and is now due for a complete refreshment. With your help tonight, we will raise the necessary funds to provide the following new Perceptual Motor Development (PMD) equipment:

Trestle Tree Starter Set (balance beams and variable trestle supports) $3,500

Gaga Ball Court $3,000

Toddler Pikler Triangle and Vestibular Swing $ 550

PMD Accompaniments:
Balance Boards, Mats, Chin Up Bars, Balls, Beanbags, etc. $3,000

Total to Raise $10,050

We ask for your support in providing the necessary specialized PMD equipment to provide for safe and meaningful developmental experiences for the children of Seton.
