The framed art piece was made by a Ugandan women's craft group for Hope 2 One Life. Hope 2 One Life, a recepient of previous grants made by the Foundtion, provides clean drinking water from deep boreholes to remote villages in northern Uganda where the only other water sources are highly contaminated surface water and mudholes. Hope 2 One Life makes sure the boreholes are properly installed (conforming to NGWA guidelines) and they return to these places and ensure they keep working. Moreover, they only drill boreholes where the villagers themselves commit to taking care of it and establishing a small fund of their own to pay for routine repairs. They also train volunteers in each village in the proper way to secure the borehole and how to test the water for E Coli bacteria.
