Dindy Reich joined the Art Faculty at East Carolina University as a Lecturer in the Foundations program in the fall of 2003. She teaches Drawing and Design classes, as well as Community Arts Management and has been coordinating the Youth Arts Festival since its inception in 2005. Before this she was Gallery Director and Lecturer in Art at the University of Texas-Pan American from 2000-2003. Prior to that she taught Metals for fourteen years at the Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Ms. Reich is also a nationally recognized jeweler and sculptor. She received her B.A. in Art from Grinnell College and her M.F.A. in Jewelry Design and Silversmithing at Indiana University. Her work has been included in many shows all over the United States as well as in Japan, Spain and Mexico. Her piece "No More Guns" was selected to travel all over the United States in the "Artists of a Different Caliber" show. She was a founding member of the Colorado Metalsmithing Association and was the curator of a number of shows in the Coburn Gallery of Colorado College during her tenure there. Her work can be found in the Jewelry SOURCEBOOK CD-ROM by Bob Mitchell and in Jewelry Survey #3 by David and Shereen LaPlantz, and as a contributor to Linda Darty's "The Art of Enameling". Galleries in Massachusetts, Colorado, Iowa and New Mexico have represented her work. A set of slides of her work is available from the SNAG slide library collection. The Lee Hansley Gallery in Raleigh, North Carolina exhibits her artwork.
