"Animes et Aniuz" by Guillermo Silva Santamaria is a color print with serigraph, etching and engraving. A bronze tone central scene is surrounded by rectangular panels containing scenes of varying stage of civilization. It is the 9th print of 120, "9/120". Guillermo Silva Santamaria (7 June 1921 - 29 June 2007) was a Colombian painter, printmaker and Surrealist. While a teenager, he went to Paris to study with Pierre Daguet. As a matter of local interest for Missourians, he took a printmaking course at Washington University, St. Louis, in 1957. By that time he was already an established artist. His early works were in the Impressionist style but his continued studies and experiences resulted in him working a number of styles and media. Silva was at the Ecole Nationale Superieure in Paris part of 1976. This framed print is signed and is approximately 42" x 32" framed. Current appraisal included with print. Recent appraised value of $600. Thank you Bill and Harriet Yelon!
