Based on a poem called "Butterfly Metamorphosis," written by Marlowe Deibel's grandmother, Cathy Fleming, who is a creative writer and a retired University City school teacher. The students enjoyed learning about the life-stages of the butterfly: Egg, Larva, Pupa, Adult. (E.L.P.A.) The students listened attentively, eyes closed to create their own little visions, as the poem was read aloud. After many sweet and insightful questions, the students created their own little butterflies to grace the border of the poem! With busy little fingers, they etched through Magic Scratch sheets that revealed bright, unique and multi-colored butterflies! This piece could be used to brighten a play room, quietly light-up a bedroom or simply just bring you pleasure each time your eyes fall upon the Butterfly Shadow Box! The Kindergarten class had so much fun creating this project and their sweet efforts are priceless!
