With our Honored Guest credited as one of just five First Growths in Bordeaux, there are only four other estates that stand equally beside Château Margaux. Château Mouton Rothschild happens to be one of those estates, and we are proud to offer this imperial from John Holmes' private collection. The 2003 vintage marks the 150th anniversary of Mouton's entry into the family to which it has belonged without interruption for five generations. It is earthy and spicy, with notes of roasted coffee and blackcurrants. "Its powerful flavors cascade over the palate revealing tremendous intensity as well as strong tannin. This enormously endowed 2003 is still sorting itself out, but it is unquestionably one of the greatest efforts of the vintage. If my instincts are correct, it is the ripest, most flamboyant Mouton Rothschild since the 1982" (Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate).
