Lapostolle Clos Apalta 2009 (6 bottles, owc)

Colchagua Valley, Chile

The flagship 2009 Lapostolle Clos Apalta is a blend of 78% Carménère, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 3% Petit Verdot, which is aged in new French oak for 24 months. With excellent drinkability until 2022, according to Robert Parker, one can gather notes of "black cherry, red currant, and vanilla. The palate is medium-bodied with fine balance, grainy ripe tannins, a core of blackberry and blueberry fruit laced with dark chocolate, and a touch of tobacco."

Note: One bottle contains sediment.
