Remembering John V. Crowe

Lyric lost a devoted member of its family with the passing of John (Jack) Vincent Crowe on October 3, 2017. A devoted husband, committed father and grandfather, brilliant businessman, and passionate civic leader, Jack joined the Lyric Board of Directors in 1993 and also served on the Executive Committee. He had an immense passion for the grand art of opera-a love which he passed on to his family and friends. Jack's daughter, Mimi, followed in her father's footsteps of Lyric leadership, serving as President of the Women's Board for three years. Jack is greatly missed, but his legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the many causes he so staunchly supported.

The wines of Clos de la Roche ("Field of the Rock") are simultaneously known for their strength and elegance, and are considered among the finest in Côte de Nuits. The 2015 Clos de la Roche ""Cuvée Vieilles Vignes"" Grand Cru has vibrancy from beginning to end, with a sweet, spicy red fruit on the entry followed by a "healthy pinch of black pepper on the front of the tongue" (Neal Martin, The Wine Advocate).
