With a rating of 98+ points, and directly from the collection of the late wine enthusiast Aubrey K. McClendon, how could you pass up the chance to fill your cellar with three magnums of near perfection? Château Lafite Rothschild has spent years working to perfect the terroir upon which their grapes are grown. With strict control of yields and manual harvests, vines are able to gracefully reach an advanced age. They are generally pulled out (with a heavy heart) when they reach eighty years old in order to maintain the high standards for which this First Growth is known.

Of the 2000 bottling, Robert Parker says: "A blend of 93.3% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot, the wine still has a dark ruby/purple color and an extraordinarily youthful nose of graphite, black currants, sweet unsmoked cigar tobacco, and flowers. A compelling wine, with extraordinary precision and great intensity, this is utterly fascinating stuff."
