Located eight miles south of downtown Cody, Wyoming, Monster Lake, known for its world-class fly fishing, offers comfortable lodging, first-class hospitality, trail rides, bird hunting, hiking and wildlife viewing. For decades, Monster Lake has provided a recreational respite for adventurous and discriminating travelers. Enjoy the local charm of downtown Cody or venture to Yellowstone National Park, approximately one hour from Monster Lake Ranch.

Enjoy hearty cuisine at every meal, prepared by the chef at the onsite restaurant, fondly referred to as The Bliss Restaurant (soft drinks, tea and coffee included). Spend evenings around a cozy campfire or in the Cutthroat Saloon (alcohol not included).

Itinerary and Activities:

Day 1 - Upon arrival, settle in, unpack, and the staff will arrange for you to fish, trail ride or take a hike before dinner.

Days 2 and 3 - Pick an activity each day from the list below. And yes, if one of you wants to fish and the other wants to go into town - no problem!

Day 4 - Enjoy a hearty breakfast and if time permits, squeeze in a little more fishing or one last hike before you head out. Chances are, you'll be back… like they say, "See you back at the ranch!"

Fly Fishing
Monster Lake Ranch has long been known for world-class fly fishing and Monster Lake offers some of the most phenomenal dry fly fishing anywhere. From the bank or a boat, Monster Lake offers an opportunity for fly fisherman of all abilities to catch trout of their dreams. Brookies up to 4 lbs, Browns up to 8 lbs, and Rainbows up to 9 lbs are all catchable at Monster Lake. Casting lesson and boat included. (Seasonal: mid-April through early-November)

Trail Rides
Ride the rimrocks on the Cowboys and Indian Trail. Enjoy the abundant wildlife and incredible views of the high desert prairies and majestic mountain peaks. Experienced guides will provide you with the horse that fits your ability and offer instruction if needed. Rides are typically one or two hours long and can be customized. This is a true western experience taking you back to a time when this land was being settled, and offers a chance to see the Cowboy Camp nestled in the rimrocks overlooking Monster Lake, or the authentic Tipi Camp set against the rimrocks west of the Monster Lake Ranch Horse Barns. (Seasonal: May 30 to August 24)
