Enjoy a personal whiskey tasting for up to 8 people in the historic private tasting room at The House of Glunz, 1206 N Wells Street, Chicago. This package includes a 750 ml bottle of Usquaebach Reserve Premium Blended Scotch.

Date of tasting to be mutually agreed upon with donor. Auction winner can choose the type of whiskies to be tasted (American, Scotch, Whiskies of the World, Bourbon).

The House of Glunz's legacy began in 1888 when great-grandfather Louis Glunz Sr. journeyed from Westphalia, Germany to what is now known as the Old Town neighborhood of Chicago. His relationships with buyers, sellers and producers-distilled from hard work and trusted handshakes-are valued generations later and create the foundation for our distinctive collections.

These relationships allow The House of Glunz to uniquely select and curate the finest wines and spirits at their best value.

Today, proprietors Barbara Glunz-Donovan and Christopher Donovan are proud that we stand as the oldest wine shop still owned by the same family in Chicago - and the entire United States.

Now in our 129th year of serving wine, The House of Glunz has been recognized by Chicago Magazine as the Best Wine Shop in Chicago.

Offering a thoughtful selection of the finest wines and spirits, The House of Glunz accommodates all requests spanning casual "everyday wines" to the highly allocated and rare wines and spirits held in our extensive cellar.

Usquaebach Reserve Premium Blended Scotch is a whisky for those seeking elegance and structure. This rare blend features over 50% quality single malts each aged between 16, 17, and 18 years and blended with the finest grain whisky - resulting in a handcrafted spirit that is both timeless and unique. The word "Usquaebach" is immortalized by the famous Scottish poet, Robert Burns, in his poem Tom O'Shanter: "Wi Usquaebach we'll face the de'il" - or, "With Usquaebach we'll face the devil." The word is commonly used to refer to Scotch whisky throughout the UK.
