In accordance with the American Association of Orthodontists, we recommend that children have their first orthodontic evaluation by age 7. With early evaluation and diagnosis, children can achieve optimal orthodontic results. Early treatment provides a range of benefits and often means that a patient can avoid surgery or other serious complications. There is, of course, no age limit for orthodontic treatment as both children and adults can benefit from orthodontics. As such, our office accommodates orthodontic patients of all ages.
Each patent's orthodontic condition requires a treatment plan based on a specialized diagnosis of the case. The treatment process involves x-rays, dental impressions and photographs. Braces have one aim: to use gentle pressure to move teeth into proper alignment. Treatment time varies depending on age, patient compliance and the severity of the condition. Generally, treatment lasts 24 months and is facilitated by ideal patient cooperation.

Dr. Natalie Lam is highly experienced with the latest advances in orthodontic treatment. As an orthodontist, she is committed to exceeding the expectations of her patients and their parents. Dr. Lam likes to take the time to educate her orthodontic patients and their diagnosis and treatment and ensure that they are comfortable with every step of the way. She graduated magna cum laude from Duke University and attended the Harvard School of Dental Medicine where she obtained her Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D) degree. Dr. Lam continued her dental training at Harvard to obtain both her Certificate in Orthodontics and Dental Orthopedics and Masters of Medical Sciences (M.M.Sc.) degree in Oral Biology. She completed fellowships at Boston's Children's Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital, and was an instructor for clinical and laboratory sessions at Harvard. Dr. Lam has been practicing dentistry since 2003 and is an Invisalign Preferred Provider.
