This stunning New Orleans Silver Dollar Collection is rich with history. Perfect for starting your newest hobby or as a beautiful addition to your current collection. The set includes three Morgan silver dollars (1883-O, 1884-O, 1885-O) and display case.
Coinage of the silver dollar was authorized by the Act of February 28, 1878 and came in at a weight of 412.5 grains and fineness of .900. George T. Morgan designed the new dollar. His initial M is found at the truncation of the neck at the last tress. It also appears on the reverse on the left-hand loop of the ribbon. Coinage of the silver dollar was suspended after 1904 when demand was low and the bullion supply became exhausted.
