Watercolor of North Carolina Mountains by Cody Harrell

About the Artist: Artist Cody Harrell is originally from Dallas, TX, where he studied at the Art Institute of Dallas. As a student of the artist Pablo Contrisciani at the Art Center/South Florida, and later, Jim Crompton and Andy Braitman, highly respected High Country artist and teachers in NC, he expanded his fascination with color and abstract shapes, which provided a language in which he could easily represent feelings and emotions. Over the years, he began working with textures to intensify this form of communication and decided to expand his talents by working with interior designer Mark Darnell of High Point, NC, where he mastered faux-finish techniques and specialized in color consultation. This experience led him to start his own successful interior design business in Miami, FL. The past 15 years have carried him to all 7 continents, and Cody now spends the majority of his time between South Beach, FL, Greensboro and Banner Elk, NC, where he currently resides. Experiencing the way colors look and are used in other parts of the world due to different climate conditions and environmental situations strongly affected his artistic vision, and he has been able to incorporate much of what he has seen over these years in his work.
