"Misplaced Serenity" - Colorful abstract painting by local artist, Betty Trotter

About the Artist: Betty Trotter is a collage artist who creates archival quality works on canvas using mixed media, found objects and handmade papers. As an elementary school teacher for over 15 years, Betty delighted in integrating art into every subject. Her collage process includes applications of acrylic paint with tissue, as well as 'rusting' tissue by using a vinegar oxidation technique. Found objects in Betty's work range from old WW II letters to handcrafted transfers of every imaginable image. She has had the privilege of showing her work locally and regionally at Artmongerz Gallery, Marshall Art Gallery, Fat Cats Art Gallery, Lola Salon and Gallery, and Southern Lights Bistro. She has studied with Jonathon Talbot, Vae Hamilton, and Toni Carlton.
