Local Artist, Linda Fitzgerald moved to Fort Collins in 1988. Born in the Hudson Valley area of New York, Linda's journey to Colorado lead her to the cultural hubs of San Francisco, CA and Santa Fe, NM where her passion for both Visual Art and Culinary Art began to blossom. In San Francisco, Linda befriended notable local and national sculptress Ruth Cravath Wakefield and Fine Art Painter, Charles Farr who inspired and influenced her on her creative journey. In 1978, Linda moved to New Mexico. There she had the honor of working as a 'Chef/companion' to Georgia O'Keeffe, in Ms. O'Keeffe's Albuquerque home. There were many conversations on the subject of 'creativity'. Linda took to heart the advice Ms. O'Keeffe gave her. "paint the way YOU paint! Don't allow others to tell you how your painting should look. Instructors want you to paint like them, but then its not YOUR work, it's theirs!"
Note from the Artist...
Much of my art is whimsical, free style and created with the hope of stirring an emotional response for the viewer...Ideally, a smile, a laugh, a sense of comfort...
