St. Teresa of Calcutta

Your home will most certainly be blessed with this exquisite hand painted portrait of Saint Mother Teresa by local artist Josh Svoboda.

The artist, Josh Svoboda was born in St. Louis and has been creating artwork for as long as he can remember. He changed his major in college when he quickly realized he enjoyed figure and drawing classes more than graphic design. That is when he knew he wanted to be a painter.
Since then, he's been challenging himself with different ways to create paintings that influence him in his everyday surroundings. Most of his work is inspired from animals and humans, trying to convey the bond between them, by invoking an emotional attachment by using rich textures. Josh is often reminded that his skill is a gift from God and he is grateful for having the ability to share his work.
Here he presents a portrait of our beloved "Saint (Mother) Teresa of Calcutta". Mother Teresa was born in Skopje, Kosovo - now North Macedonia. She became a Sister of Lareto and moved to Ireland at age 18 yrs. She then moved to India where she lived and worked as a Missionary Sister serving the poorest of the poor for the rest of her life. Mother Teresa died in 1997 at age 87.

She was canonized a Saint by Pope Francis in 2016. She is the Foundress of the Missionaries of Charity which has over 4,500 nuns and is active in 133 countries including St. Louis, MO where the homeless staying off of Grand Ave. are served food every day.
