Artist and school dad, Daniel Solone, is the creator of this colorful abstract painting. Mr. Solone says that "Lo'ihi" is a Hawaiian word meaning "tall or long." Its the name of an underwater, volcanic seamount off the south-eastern side of of Big Island, which was the inspiration for the piece. He attempted to capture the feel of the dynamic, energy and (fortunately not too often) explosive power of a volcano, while suggesting it remained underwater, through the use of primary colors and abstraction. Years ago, Mr. Solone decided to add bible verses to back of his paintings, thinking that if he sold it to a Christian they might inspire them to hold firm to what they knew to be true; if the painting sold to a person of another faith, they might be curious and look up the message in the back (and hopefully more). Completed in 2013, the canvas measures 24" W & 36" H. It comes with a certificate of authenticity. Value - $450
