One case of Lot 118 Sauvignon Blanc, Coteaux du Giennois AOC, France by Ninety Plus Cellars.
The best Sauvignon Blanc you've never heard of, from France's Loire River Valley. This wine is perfect for outdoor BBQs, holiday parties, and relaxing evenings on the front porch. Pour yourself a glass, get ready to refresh, and solve world problems.
Story: The Coteaux du Giennois is located in the eastern Loire River Valley just north of Sancerre and Pouilly-Fume. Like its neighbors to the south, soils are comprised mostly of limestone and flint. Here, Sauvignon Blanc vines yield berries with lighthearted aromas and delicate crispness. This is probably the best Sauvignon Blanc you've never heard of.
Taste : Strikingly fragrant aromas of peach and nectarine with a bit of citrus and a touch of flintiness. The wine's texture is broad and silky, but finishes with a racy elegance leaving you craving another sip. Serve with oysters on the half shell with lemon shallot vinaigrette or a simple baguette with tangy goat cheese.
