Every year since 2009, Noah's Hope & Hope4Bridget have funded multiple research projects with the generous support of our donors. This year we are funding a follow-up project to a major project we funded a few years back to create a worldwide registry and database of children affected by all forms of Batten disease. Currently the European arm of this database, known as DEM-CHILD, is up and running and the data from it has been used as the basis for the clinical trial in CLN2 Batten disease.
It is now time to integrate the data collected over the years in the United States into this European DEM-CHILD database. Noah's Hope-Hope4Bridget has agreed to fund this incredibly important project which is needed to provide a patient data set large enough to serve as a better data control set for future clinical trials in multiple forms of Batten disease.
This $20,000 project will be performed at University of Rochester under the direction of Dr. Jonathan Mink. Dr. Mink is a renowned international movement disorder specialist and leads the largest clinical research group in the country focusing on Batten disease.
We are asking you, our generous supporters, to help us fund this $20,000 project that will form a comprehensive data set which will become the cornerstone for clinical trials in ALL forms of Batten disease in the future.
