Hugo Sanchez donated his original Pichichi to Coronado Schools Foundation. In Spanish football, the Pichichi is the trophy awarded by Spanish sports newspaper Marca to the top goal scorer for each league season. Recent winners include famed Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi and last year the Luis Suarez received the most coveted award. No one has won it more times than Hugo Sanchez, who claimed the trophy in 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988 and then again in 1990 when the Real Madrid forward scored 38 goals in a single season. Sánchez is widely regarded as Mexico's greatest-ever footballer, and one of the greatest players of his generation.
From 1977 to 1994, Sánchez was a member of the Mexico national team, gaining 58 caps and scoring 29 goals. He participated in three FIFA World Cup tournaments and was a part of the Mexico team that reached the quarter-finals of the 1986 World Cup.
This Pichichi awarded to Hugo Sanchez, the Real Madrid Star forward and 6th highest goal scorer in Real Madrid's history is the actual trophy won by him in 1985-96.
