2021 ST. ALBERT AWARD RECIPIENTS
In gratitude for their exemplary commitment to the Mount Carmel Community, Mount Carmel High School and the Mount Carmel Educational Foundation celebrate Mr. and Mrs. Julie and Marty Hughes '66 with our highest honor, the St. Albert Award.
Marty and Julie's affection for MC started in their high school years, and they have been attending events and supporting Mount Carmel ever since. Julie was active with the Mothers' Club while their son Neil '93 was a student. Julie became a member of the Board of Directors for Mount Carmel and was named an Honorary Alumni in 2014. Marty is currently a member of the MC Board of Directors and Co-Chairman of our most recent Capital Campaign, resulting in the renovation of our Main Building, support of the Educational Foundation, and student scholarships. Marty and Julie continue to share their time, talent, and treasures with the MC community and generously support many other charitable organizations.
It is an honor and privilege to present the St. Albert Award to this exemplary couple whose commitment to Mount Carmel benefits generations of MC students.
THE ST. ALBERT AWARD
Saint Albert of Jerusalem, the Patron of the Carmelite Order, established the Rule by which Carmelites have lived. Albert is an example to Christians today-to live every moment of life out of the Word of God and Gospel values. He has been an inspiration to those in leadership. He carried out peace initiatives of international importance.
Like Saint Albert, Mount Carmel graduates have profoundly impacted communities around the world. The Saint Albert Award recognizes those who have made exemplary contributions in the Mount Carmel community and beyond. This award is presented with the highest honor from Mount Carmel High School.
