OUR 2021 HONOREES: GLORIA & EMILIO ESTEFAN
We are honored to present the 2021 Hope Award to Gloria and Emilio Estefan. Gloria Estefan is one of the most successful crossover artists in Latin music history. She is a 7X Grammy Award-winning international superstar singer, songwriter, actress, author of two New York Times best-selling children's books and producer of the Tony-Nominated musical, On Your Feet!. Emilio Estefan is a 19X Grammy Award winner, musician, songwriter, record and television producer, best-selling author, filmmaker and cultural ambassador. Gloria's father, the late, Jose M. Fajardo, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis soon after returning from the Vietnam War in 1968. Gloria, barely a teen, was thrown into the role of caregiver while her mother worked and studied for a teaching credential. To this day, MS remains very near and dear to the Estefans.
ABOUT THE MS GALA LUNCHEON
The 38th Annual MS Gala Luncheon is a premier event in which community and business leaders come together for an afternoon of upscale silent auction items and unforgettable fashions in order to raise critical funds and awareness to help find a cure for multiple sclerosis. This event has raised over $8.6 million to support the National MS Society.
Due to COVID-19, The National MS Society has decided to host a virtual event instead of our traditional in-person gathering for the safety of our community. Because of this our projected reach has increased and we expect lots of new viewers to tune in. The virtual world allows us to reach even more people.
At the National MS Society, everything we do is to ensure that people affected by MS can live their best lives as we stop MS in its tracks, restore what has been lost and end MS forever. Our vision is a world free of MS.
