Protecting the waters of the Great Swamp watershed region for 45 years, the Great Swamp Watershed Association (GSWA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and enhancing the water resources of the Passaic River region, from the Great Swamp headwaters to Newark Bay, for present and future generations. Through education, advocacy, science, land preservation, and stewardship, in collaboration with partners, we work to instill in our communities an awareness of water's impact on health and the beauty of the environment, from source to sea.
With more than four decades of dedicated efforts in protecting and monitoring the river's headwaters, the GSWA staff, Board of Trustees, Advisory Council, and membership base are now more resolute than ever to continue our mission of safeguarding the Great Swamp watershed and the entire length of the Passaic River, for the benefit of today and for generations to come.
